Correlated Single-Molecule Study of DNA Replication

Event: NWO Life 2022 Conference
Location: Egmond aan Zee, Netherlands

At the NWO Life 2022 conference in Egmond aan Zee, I presented part of my PhD work on single-molecule DNA replication. The conference brought together scientists from different disciplines within life sciences for constructive discussions and knowledge exchange.

My presentation focused on how we correlated two independent measured data: mechanical distance measured by dual optical tweezers and fluorescence image data recorded from confocal microscopy. This correlative approach allowed us to reveal the efficient mechanisms underlying DNA replication at the single-molecule level.

The talk was well-received with positive feedback from fellow scientists across various life science disciplines. I'm grateful to my colleagues from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam for their constructive discussions and to my supervisor Professor Gijs Wuite for his continuous support and mentoring throughout this work.
